12 Colors, 1 Dollar

On one of my recent trips to Walgreens, I picked up one of these palettes. I got the color 01, and oh boy, I love it. It has twelve shimmery, colorful neutral toned shades and, here's the kicker, it was only one dollar. Yup, just one. I haven't tested the staying power of these yet but I figured I would do some swatches and show you all these gorgeous colors.

As you can see, they've got some pretty decent colors in there. There really isn't one that I don't like. I'm really quite pleased with this palette.

Time for some SWATCHES!

Swatched Clockwise

Again, Swatched Clockwise

Overall, I really like this palette. The shadows are soft, decently pigmented, and super blendable. I'm not sure how good the staying power is but if it's not great, I'm sure it's nothing a good primer can't fix!

I think I'm going to go pick up a few more of these palettes so more swatches to come!

OOTD

I've been itching to post some stuff and just haven't had time! Now that I have a moment to spare, here's what I wore today!

Button Up Shirt: RVCA__I adore this shirt of mine. I've had it for a few years and I wear it almost every chance I get. It's great too because it's pretty long so I can wear it with leggings too. It's made out of a really light material that looks like denim but isn't. I love this because you can throw it on over almost anything. It's perfect for cool summer/spring nights. The shirt also has roll up tabs inside the sleeves and which put the sleeve length above the elbow which is nice when it's a bit warmer outside. I didn't realize how versatile this shirt was. Falling in love all over again!

White V-Neck: Victoria's Secret PINK__ These are by far my favorite v-neck t-shirts that I have found. I have so many! I love them because they are long and fit really nicely. They also have really awesome colors. These are definitely my go to basic t's. I can't get enough.

Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters__ I love American Eagle jeans... not as much as Levi's but I will wear the shit out of AE jeans. That's not a joke, either. I wore my last pair until a giant hole developed in the crotch area. I love that most of them are pretty stretchy and forgiving. We all need a little forgiveness sometimes, right?! I love the way these jeans fit me and I will always have at least one pair of AE jeans in my closet.

Now, onto the shoes. God, I love shoes.

Moccasins: Minnetonka__ I have been wearing moccasins for as long as I can remember. That's no joke, either. My dad and grandma are all about Native American shit and they passed down that love to me. I seriously have worn through so many pairs of these, it's not even funny. I also am the proud owner of these, but with a soft sole, and I grew up in these. Looking at that website, I can see plenty of things I need to get my feet on. HA!

Who's ready for jewelry?

I got this necklace on a trip to Oregon with the fam a few years ago. I can't even remember what city or what kind of store I bought this in. I wear it a lot because it goes with everything and it's just something really subtle that can help to make my outfit come together.

This bracelet belonged to my great grandmother. I also have a thumb ring that matches it. I wear this a lot. It's the bracelet that sits on my dresser and I throw it on as I'm rushing out the door, no matter what I'm wearing.

This ring was my grandma's. About once a year, she lets me pick out a piece of her jewelry that I want. This ring was the first thing I ever picked out and It's one of my all time favorite pieces. I absolutely adore this ring. Something especially great about it: it has earrings and a beautiful watch to match. I am now the proud owner of the full set and I am so happy about that.

This one was also my grandma's. It's the PERFECT pinky ring, in my opinion. I wear this one quite often as well. I have two stories about this ring.

First story, one of my dad's english bulldogs got a hold of it and chewed it up to the point where it was bent every which way. I thought I had lost it until I found a crumpled mass of metal and stone on the living room floor. I freaked the fuck out, took it the local rock shop in our tiny town and they fixed it right up for me. Such a relief. They even shined it. It used to be a bit dingy with age, which I didn't mind but it looks fabulous all shined up as well.

Second story, my grandpa bought this for my grandma when my dad was a baby. Grandpa worked overnight at a gas station in Vegas where they sold all types of handmade Native American jewelry. One night, my grandpa, being the sweet man that he is, brought this dainty little ring home to my grandma, and boy am I glad he did.

If you can't tell, I'm a HUGE fan of vintage Native American jewelry. I'm so happy that my grandma is too and is willing to give me her entire collection... over time, of course. I'm one lucky girl. The fact that most of my jewelry belonged to my family is the best thing about it. They aren't just pieces I bought at random shots, they have sentimental value and you just can't beat that.

Anyways, Hope you enjoyed this post.

The Body Shop Haul

So it was April 20th and a wild email from The Body Shop appeared. To honor 4/20, they were having a sale. Four hemp products for $20. What a freaking steal of a deal! I mean, one body butter costs nearly that much. I could not pass up something like that! I had been wanting to pick up the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner since the toner I've been using is almost gone. I went ahead and ordered some shit.

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner: I haven't been able to try this yet because I'm still finishing up my other toner but I can already tell I'm going to love it. I've been breaking out something fierce lately and I'm hoping this helps to clear my skin up a bit. I will keep you posted.

Hemp Moisturizing Wash: You can never have enough body washes, right? It's something you use everyday so I figured, why not? I'll be the first to admit that the scent is not for everyone and that goes for pretty much all of the hemp products but, personally, I like it. It's more of a masculine scent. I've thought about it and I cannot describe this smell accurately so if you want to know, go to The Body Shop and smell that shit. True to the name, It is very very moisturizing which my dried out skin is loving right now.

Hemp Hand Protector: Holy shit balls. This is amazing. It keeps your hands unbelievable soft throughout the day. I put it on after I wash my hands and it keeps them really nice without making them greasy. Out of the four hemp items I got, this smells most similar to the body wash. Since I got this, it has been on my at all times. I just can't go without now. I can't wait to try out the Rose one. My love for rose scented things is considerable higher than the average persons so I am really looking forward to that purchase.

Hemp Body Butter: This smells a bit more fresh than the wash and hand protector. This is the first body butter I have had from The Body Shop and I love the formula. It just melts into your skin. Because the hemp line is for very dry skin, this is ultra hydrating. It's perfect for after shaving and just as an all-over moisturizer. It leave skin soft and supple. Very nice.

Hemp Foot Protector: Just in time for Summer! I'm counting on this baby to keep my feet looking and feeling great. So far it has not disappointed me. It really has made a difference in how soft my feet are compared to regular lotion. Before I had this, I didn't always remember to put lotion on my feet because they aren't that dry but now that I have something specifically for my feet, I remember to rub this in every morning. There's a bit of a minty scent added to this one which I'm going to assume is soothing for tootsies. It smells almost like a diluted version of Vicks VapoRub, which I quite enjoy.

Exfoliating Skin Towel: I bought this because I was reading something online about small things that have brighten people's days or something like that. This was one of those items and let me tell you, It is awesome. If you're looking for more exfoliation than a regular loofah/poof can provide, I urge you try this out. It's just the best. Bonus: it makes it infinitely more easy to get your back!

All in all, I quite enjoy the Hemp line from The Body Shop and I'm glad I was able to pick these up for such an amazing deal. I'm definitely going to be a frequent shopper from now on. I will update with a review/thoughts on the toner when I get enough uses out of it to make a verdict.

Revlon Lip Butters

I've been eyeing these babies for quite some time and I finally went out and picked some up.

I'm sure you have heard of them about a million times before but I'm going to go ahead and do a review anyways.

Left to Right: Strawberry Shortcake, Berry Smoothie, Raspberry Pie,
Peach Parfait, Tutti Frutti, Candy Apple

Swatches in the same order.

I love these Lip Butters, especially for Spring/Summer because they are really sheer. Essentially, they are just highly pigmented lip balms. They're great because you can still get the color you want without having heavy lipstick on. They're all pretty wearable and super easy to apply, you don't even really need to look in a mirror. The line also has a bunch of colors that are absolutely gorgeous for the coming seasons.

Strawberry Shortcake: I wasn't so sure about buying this one because I'm not very big on pink lip colors. I must admit, however, that I do like this one. It's just the right pink for me. It's blue toned and has a bit of a shimmer to it, which is nice.

Berry Smoothie: This is a very wearable color. You could wear it everyday because it isn't super bright and in your face. It's more of a mauve color with silver shimmer.

Raspberry Pie: I have been looking for a raspberry lip color but I didn't want one that was too heavy on my lips which makes this PERFECT! There is no shimmer to this one, just nice, beautiful raspberry color. I'm in love.

Peach Parfait: The one and only. This is almost a my lips but better color for me. It's so pretty. I have been wearing this one almost every day since I got it. Obviously it's a peachy color but it has gold flecks of shimmer in it which I was slightly unsure about at first but not anymore! I seriously cannot live without this color. If I were to tell you to get one Lip Butter, this would be it.

Tutti Frutti: If you are like me and have been looking for a coral color for Summer, look no further. This, to me, is perfect because just like with Raspberry Pie, the color isn't too heavy on my lips. It gives them the perfect coral color without being all "Hey, my lips are fucking coral!"

Cherry Pie: It's red, but it's not a super deep or bright red. It's gives your lips a nice red "wash," I would say.  I thinks it's nice for Summer too because you can still get that red color in what is more like a balm than a lipstick.

All in all I would recommend these to anyone and everyone because I am in love. I can't wait to put these on every day and all the colors are gorgeous. Do yourself a favor and go get at least one.
